At 91ÊÓƵ, we often talk about “growing leaders grounded in faith and wisdom.” This June, we have the distinct honor of celebrating 49 years of doing exactly that.

As we approach our 50th anniversary, the 2026 Spring Gala serves as a bridge between the generations of excellence that have defined us since our doors first opened in Crown Heights. On Saturday, June 13, our community will gather at the Princess Manor Catering Hall, 92 Nassau Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11222, for a “Semi-Formal Affair” dedicated to the people who make 91ÊÓƵ’s a second home.

Why This Year is Special

This year, our celebration is three-fold. We are honoring:

  1. Our Dedicated Staff: The educators who work tirelessly to ensure academic excellence is inseparable from moral integrity.
  2. Our Retirees: The pillars of our community whose years of service created the “Legacy of Trust” we enjoy today.
  3. The Class of 2026: Our newest group of leaders who are ready to show the world what it means to be a student of 91ÊÓƵ’s.

An Afternoon to Remember

The Gala isn’t just a ceremony; it’s a celebration of life and community. Guests will be treated to special performances by our students, showcasing the artistic and intellectual faculties we strive to awaken in every child. Following the program, we’ll clear the floor for a live DJ, turning the afternoon into a celebration of music and dancing for all ages.

Get Your Tickets

We want to see our entire 91ÊÓƵ’s family there—alumni from the 70s, current parents, and our youngest students alike.

  • Deadline to purchase: May 8, 2026
  • Contact: Ms. Cruz at 718-756-6602 for tickets and information.

Let’s toast to 49 years of forging character and look ahead to the many years of excellence still to come. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

91ÊÓƵ’s Reopens Tomorrow 2/25/26 /blog/st-marks-reopens-tomorrow-2-25-26/ /blog/st-marks-reopens-tomorrow-2-25-26/#respond Tue, 24 Feb 2026 21:10:19 +0000 /?p=10367

After a whirlwind couple of days and a whole lot of shoveling, we have some great news: the snow has settled, the plows have finished their rounds, and 91ÊÓƵ will officially reopen on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

While the “Blizzard of ’26” certainly gave us a run for our money, our community has been working tirelessly to ensure the school is safe, salted, and ready for action. We hope everyone stayed warm, stayed safe, and maybe even enjoyed a little extra cocoa during our two-day closure.

We want to thank our families for your flexibility and our staff for their dedication during this weather event. There’s something special about the way our community pulls together when the forecast gets messy.

Safety Reminder: If your specific neighborhood is still experiencing travel difficulties that make your commute unsafe, please contact the front office to let us know. Safety remains our first priority!

See you tomorrow!

Faith in Action: Our Monthly Mass at 91ÊÓƵ’s Day School in Brooklyn, NY /blog/faith-in-action-our-monthly-mass-at-st-marks-day-school-in-brooklyn-ny/ /blog/faith-in-action-our-monthly-mass-at-st-marks-day-school-in-brooklyn-ny/#respond Tue, 20 Jan 2026 08:00:23 +0000 /?p=10283

How does a school nurture a child’s spirit alongside their intellect? At 91ÊÓƵ’s Day School, located in Crown Heights, the answer is found in our monthly tradition of communal worship.

Join Us Every Third Wednesday

When: Every third Wednesday of the month

Time: 10:00 AM

Where: Church of 91ÊÓƵ, 1417 Union St, Brooklyn, NY

Our school mass is a dedicated time for religious studies to move from the classroom into a living, spiritual practice. It is a cornerstone of our commitment to holistic education.

Students Leading the Liturgy

One of the most unique aspects of our service is that it is student-led. Rather than being passive observers, our students take an active role in the liturgy by reading from the Common Lectionary. During any given mass, you will see our young leaders presenting:

  • Old Testament Lessons that ground us in history.
  • The Psalms, often read responsively by the student body.
  • New Testament Epistles offering practical wisdom.
  • The Gospel Reading, the heart of our spiritual reflection.

The Power of Sacred Music

Spirituality at 91ÊÓƵ’s is also a sensory experience. On special Wednesdays, the 91ÊÓƵ’s School Choir performs. Their participation teaches students that worship can be expressed through art, discipline, and harmony.
